Doing a New Thing: Worship for Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021

Easter Sunday morning worship service with Pastor Cara Milne from First Presbyterian Church of Watkins Glen, NY.

Due to technical difficulties with our main camera feed, audio quality may be lacking during this service. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Thankfully because they were pre-recorded, our musical numbers did not suffer this same fate...

Today's musical inspiration includes every performer we have recorded over the past year! Jim Howell sings an inspirational acapella prelude; beautiful hymns of reflection are provided by soloists Darla Hall, Vicki Kosthorst, and Jim Howell, and by our vocal trio of Nan Woodworth and Bob & Bettina King; accompanied by Joe Orbin on pipe organ or Sarah Matthews on the piano; and Nan Woodworth returns with local celebrity Robin Burnett for our Benedictory tune! All vocalists were pre-recorded on different days in our otherwise empty sanctuary.

We continue to worship in the church building, with in-person services every Sunday morning! See http://wgpres.org/worship for details and restrictions.

For those who wish to participate with us, Holy Communion is observed beginning at approximately 29:32. ✝️🍷🍞✝️

Good Friday Service, April 2, 2021

Music and Scripture Tell the Story

If we were to jump straight from the earthly triumph of Palm Sunday to the transcendent glory of Easter Sunday, without also considering the passion of Good Friday, we would miss a critical cornerstone of our salvation.

So tonight, we take a somber break to tell of Christ's sacrifice in a special evening service. Gospel readings and the Psalm Jesus quoted on the cross are paired with familiar hymns to illustrate one day in his life. All music was recorded at different times during the previous weeks in our otherwise empty sanctuary for the safety and edification of all.
